Elena Cotos

 

 

 

 

 

Elena is a doctoral student in the Applied Linguistics and Technology program at Iowa State University. She holds an MA in Philology from Moldova State University. Her research interests include ICALL/CALL, automated scoring, learner corpora, CALT, academic writing, and materials design. Elena has taught a variety of English courses both at Iowa State and in Moldova. She has served as a Language Tester for the Peace Corps and as a Translator/ Interpreter for the United Nations Development Program. Elena has presented at AAAL, CALICO, TESOL, ACL, and TSLL and has reviewed for the TESOL Quarterly. She has also designed online materials for the English Listening Lounge and participated in the development and implementation of "Life in a Second Language" Simulation and Enhancing and Advancing Science for English Language Learners (EASEL) projects. Currently, she is working on developing an ICALL program for academic discourse analysis and evaluation.
